Two weekends ago, Melody and Chris got married on a perfect spring day at the beautiful Belmont Manor. The more weddings I do at Belmont, the more it is becoming one of my favorite venues. The landscaping and architecture are gorgeous, the sun sets perfectly across the grounds over the treetops, and I keep finding hidden gem locations to take photos at. But, honestly, all of that means nothing if you don’t have a bride and groom that trust your vision and are willing to do what it takes, even if that means carefully making your way through stream-side vegetation that includes thorn bushes and stepping down a stream bank in your gold high heels. I know I’ve said it before and with my 2016 wedding season it still holds true….I have THE BEST brides and grooms.
As I was driving up the lane to Belmont I noticed that I passed over a small stream and took note that the sun would be setting in a direction that would make for really pretty photos there. I mentioned it to Melody and Chris and, without hesitation, they said after the ceremony we could hop in the golf cart and go down there. So that’s what we did! Five of us (me, Anna, Melody, Chris, and one of the Belmont employees) crammed into one golf cart and made our way down to the stream. I rolled my pants legs up, stepped into the cold stream water, and got to photograph this amazing couple in that beautiful setting and I couldn’t have been happier. It is couples like Melody and Chris that make what I do the best job in the world.
Melody and Chris exchanged vows in a sweet ceremony on the lawn of the Belmont under a bright blue sky and then danced the night away in the beautifully draped tent under the stars. From the moment they had their first look on, they were by each other’s side, and it was evident to everyone around them how truly happy they were. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for allowing me and Anna to be there to share in your love story. I hope the images we captured are able to do justice to how amazing your day was. I love them and hope you do, too!! I’m pretty much obsessed with this photo. Melody’s makeup was perfection!Same photo but in black and white…..I couldn’t choose!
