Kenzie and Jon’s Bolger Center wedding was dripping with beautiful silver and blue accents. It was evident that every detail and event was planned with so much heart and thoughtfulness, which made this wedding of 200 some people somehow seem intimate.
Though I didn’t know Kenzie and Jon until meeting with them about their wedding, we’re all from the same place….good old Hagerstown. They met at my same high school, North High (Go Hubs!), and got to know each other through drama class and performing in plays together. It was only fitting that when it was time to pop the question, Jon came up the amazing idea to take it back to where it all began. He tricked Kenzie into thinking she was coming back to North High to give a lecture on careers in psychology (as Kenzie is now a clinical psychologist). When she made her way to the stage where their love first started years ago, she could tell it was not what she had thought. Instead she found Jon on one knee asking her to be his bride. How sweet!!
One of my favorite things about this wedding was how music was incorporated into their day in fun and also super sweet ways. Their ceremony aisle was lined in the lyrics to “Come to Me” by the Goo Goo Dolls….one of my favorite songs. “You’re my girl, and I’m your groom…..” 🙂 With the lyrics “This is where we start again” up by where they would say their vows. They then recessed out of their ceremony by dancing down the aisle to “Good to be Alive” by Andy Grammer. Kenzie and Jon also had an AMAZING choreographed dance for their first dance that started out as a nice slow dance but then changed into a really fun dance party.
Kenzie and Jon, I can’t thank you enough for entrusting me to capture these memories for you. I wish you so much happiness in the future!!That’s the face of a bride overwhelmed with emotion that she’s about to get married!! 🙂Kenzie did first looks with her dad, step-dad, and brother. It was the cutest thing. That’s as good as we could get for a picture with all the kids. It works, right?
