When life gives you rain on your wedding day, you buy some rain boots and a huge “Just Married” heart-shaped umbrella and you make the best of it. That’s exactly what Becca and Matt did for their bayside wedding at Celebrations on the Bay. I had the pleasure of spending their wedding day with them a couple weeks back…..you know, back when we all couldn’t remember what the sunshine looked like? Obviously, it was not the blue sky waterfront wedding they had imagined, but Becca and Matt’s wedding was absolutely beautiful nonetheless. They said their “I do’s” under a chandelier adorned tent surrounded by the people that mean the most to them. Rain or shine, the end result is that you get married to your best friend and love of your life, and that’s all that really matters. And besides, the rain and wind (it was so windy) couldn’t stop us from still grabbing some outside photos wherever we could find a little bit of shelter at first, and then we braved it out even farther with some umbrellas later in the day. Like I mentioned, Becca had bought this amazing heart umbrella for the photos that I absolutely loved. So many brides have photos with the Chesapeake Bay in the background with blue skies and what not, but I’m pretty sure that Becca is the only one with photos kissing her new husband in the rain beneath a heart-shaped umbrella.
Going away from the rain talk now…I’d have to say my favorite moment throughout their wedding day was when Becca and Matt were out on the dance floor with Matt’s daughter. Matt didn’t dance a whole whole lot that night but he kept coming back to the dance floor to bust a few moves with his daughter and it was so sweet to see. That little girl was on the dance floor the entire night and she was the cutest thing ever. It brought a huge smile to my face when Becca and Matt picked their daughter up and danced as a new family…..it even made me smile thinking about it now as I typed that 🙂
Becca and Matt, thank you both so much for keeping the smile on your face and venturing out into the rain with me to get some beautiful photos. They’re photos that are uniquely yours and I hope you love them!So Matt has this thing about sticking his tongue out….doesn’t even realize he’s doing it. We worked on that during their engagement session. But I bet he didn’t know he walked down the aisle with is tongue out. Well Matt….now you know haha!Impromptu dance party!! Not sure Becca was down…Another dance party!!
