“Fairy tales are more than true. Not because they tell us that dragons exist, but because they tell us that dragons can be beaten.”
I absolutely adore that saying, which is now adorning the walls of these newlyweds’ home, as it was written on a beautiful wooden backdrop and given as a wedding gift. That saying is a wonderful reminder that, while marriage can be hard, you can still have that fairy tale and, together, you can overcome anything.
Diana and Jason’s wedding day at Antrim 1844 was nothing short of a fairy tale. It was hot…..I’m not going to lie…..it was crazy hot that day, but it was still perfection. They were married underneath the branches of an enchanting old tree, roamed the flower speckled grounds, and danced the night away among their closest family and friends, all while taking a break to cut the cake with Sting, the sword of Bilbo Baggins. Any The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings fans should appreciate that one! And even more special because Jason proposed to Diana while they were watching the animated version of The Hobbit…..too cute! One guess as to what was in Jason’s pocket when they got to the point in the movie when Bilbo tricks Gollum with the question “What have I got in my pocket?”. 😉 Every detail was thought out and brought to life perfectly and it was so much fun going through the day and finding all the personal touches that Diana and Jason added to their day. From Sting, to a Star Trek groom’s cake, mementos from Grandmothers tied to Diana’s bouquet, drinking horns for the groomsmen, and hand drawn pictures on books for centerpieces. It was such a joy spending the day with this down-to-earth, sweet couple.
Diana and Jason, thank you so much for making me feel like a part of your celebration, and not just an outside observer of it. I can’t say enough great things about you. It truly was an honor being one of your friends for the day and I wish you a fairy tale life….may you two live happily ever after 🙂The amazing professionals that made this day possible:
