I’m seriously a sucker for proposal stories. Some are extravagant while others are perfectly sweet and simple. Kim and Mike’s proposal story is the perfectly sweet and simple kind, and I don’t think they would have wanted it any other way. December 7, 2013, in the comfort of their own home, Mike got down on one knee and asked Kim to marry her. It was their own special moment. Nothing fancy but full of thoughtfulness. Both of Kim’s parents are angels in heaven, but their ashes are at home with Kim. Mike proposed in their home so that Kim’s parents could still be a part of the occasion. I think that’s about as sweet as it comes 🙂
Fast forward a year and several months later, Kim and Mike were married under rainy skies on the Eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay at Silver Swan Bayside. Despite the weather, the smiles couldn’t have been bigger and the love couldn’t have been greater. We were able to make it halfway through the ceremony before the rain started and, while that might scare some people away, not my brides and grooms, not Kim and Mike. By the time we were done with their bride and groom portraits, Kim’s dress was soaked. But whatever…..soooo worth it! I love umbrella photos, they’re so cute! And what is even cuter is a bride, surrounded by bridesmaids with towels, standing in front of a fan drying out her dress, sipping on a cocktail still with a huge smile on her face. I adore this girl.
Thank you, Kim and Mike, for putting your faith in me and following me out into the rain. You two are proof that a wedding day is what you make of it. You can be sad that rain is falling or you can grab some umbrellas, hike up your dress, and go play in some puddles 🙂 I can’t thank you enough for letting me share in that with you. XOXOKim’s something blue…..her Mom’s bracelet and a heart cut out of her Dad’s work uniform.I’m usually not too big on the jumping photos, but when the guys make it as epic as they did here…..umm yeah they’re the best things ever.
Gotta warm up and plan out your sweet moves first…..
