Two weekends ago, I had the pleasure of photographing Lacey and John’s beautiful wedding at Grey Rock Mansion. I can’t believe it had been almost a year since I photographed their Cylburn Arboretum / Camden Yards engagement session where I had an absolute blast watching the two of them try to concurrently blow bubbles with Bubble Yum after learning that John had NEVER learned how to blow bubbles. While there was no Bubble Yum to be found at their wedding (I’m still kind of sad about that, guys), there was perhaps my most favorite first look yet. When John turned around and saw Lacey, his bride, for the first time, he brought his hands to his face with a flood of emotion. A more genuine smile doesn’t exist. Moments like that are pure perfection and are what remind me of how lucky I am. Moments like that are shared between only a bride and groom and one other person, and that lucky person is me (ok….so that particular first look there was also my second shooter and two videographers, but you know what I mean 😉 ). Or when I got to be there to photograph Lacey as she read her note from John before going out to see him. It brought her to tears and I legit was the only other person in there to experience that…….and I might have been hiding my tears behind the camera. Their wedding was so full of emotion and other amazing moments like the two I already mentioned.
Not only were their beautiful moments, but the wedding day itself was planned with attention to detail that everything else about it was beautiful, too. The florals were to die for, the cake was gorgeous, the color palette was perfection, and I was obsessed over the place card holders (you’ll see those in a bit). It was just one of those weddings that was great from the moment I walked in to the hotel room, to the moment I walked out of Grey Rock Mansion. And I know that it is all because Lacey and John are an incredible couple that I will for sure miss getting to be around. I have to admit that I’m kind of sad it’s over because I really was looking forward to their wedding just so I could see them again! Congratulations Lacey and John….you deserve all the happiness in the world! The moment I asked Anna, my second, to go do a veil drop and the wind decided it would just do it on it’s own. Hence why John was not ready at all 🙂Lift failSuccess!!Ummm….probably my favorite ring shot of all time. Yep. I think so. The incredible professionals that made this day possible:
