You guys…..I seriously am starting out my 2016 season with THE BEST weddings! I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed to always have such wonderful brides and grooms. Someone is going to have to pinch me soon just to make sure I’m not dreaming….they’ve been THAT good!
Lindsay and Andrew….oh my goodness there are so many wonderful things I can say about them and their wedding….I don’t even know where to begin. These two are smart, funny, crazy good looking, have awesome friends, incredibly sweet families….the list can go on and on. Those qualities are already enough to make for one incredible wedding, but then Lindsay and Andrew added in so many personal touches to their wedding day that it ended up even more special.
Lindsay chose to wear her mother’s wedding dress, which I thought was so beautiful. They bottom is the original dress and then Lindsay had the top redone to make it a little more modern. They said their I do’s at a church right down the road from their home in Pasadena and, immediately following the ceremony, we took the trolley down to their community pier for some bride and groom portraits. This waterfront park is within walking distance of their house and they go down there often, so it was a sweet sentimental touch. If you know me, you know I love any touch of the Chesapeake in weddings so I was right at home. We strolled down the pier and had beautiful views of the Magothy River as the backdrop. We then hopped back in the trolly and headed back to Annapolis to State Circle for more photos. Lindsay and Andrew love Annapolis and you can’t get much more Annapolis than State Circle. Then it was back in the trolley to head down to Andrew’s parent’s new home by Spa Creek. It is SO gorgeous down there! They wanted a couple photos on the front porch, which I think Andrew’s parents will really cherish. Then it was time to head back to the Loews Annapolis Hotel where all their guests were enjoying cocktail hour. Another fun little personal touch that Lindsay told me about had to do with their place cards, which were oyster shells with their guests name written on them. Lindsay admitted she’s not much of a DIY bride but that was one thing she did DIY. So instead of just buying the shells like other people might do, she and Andrew decided that they would eat enough oysters for all 200 guest’s shell place cards. It ended up being a bit larger of a task than she anticipated, with having to soak and bleach the shells and all that fun stuff…….it was so much work that she told me to “photograph the sh*$ out of those shells”. Haha! She told me this on the trolley ride where she and Andrew, along with their bridal party, had the trolley stocked full of cans of Bud Light, which they drank out of from random mis-matched brought from home coozies, and ate out of a huge Costco sized bag of Cheez-its. They are seriously my kind of people. Views of the Chesapeake Bay, Bud Light, and Cheez-its……..I love this couple so much 🙂 They made their wedding full of who they are and that is the best kind of wedding.
Lindsay and Andrew, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like part of your family for the day. I truly can’t ask for anything better than that 🙂 Andrew and his two brothers with Dad watching from a distance. That has to be one proud dad. Fun little coincidence…..Andrew is one of three boys while Lindsay is one of three girls 🙂This is a Polish tradition where a song is sang and then this crazy hat is placed on the groom along with them both getting necklaces with plastic babies on them. I love seeing these different traditions from other cultures! This left photo is Lindsay’s heart sinking after Andrew’s two brothers joked during their Best Man speech that Lindsay and Andrew’s dog was there and they were bringing him in. Lies. Not cool to joke about someone’s fur baby!! The professionals that made this day possible:
