Like I’ve said in previous blog posts, it’s always a little tough going into weddings in which I’ve never met the bride and groom before. You don’t know if you’ll click and there is pressure to form an immediate bond because, let’s face it, I spend A TON of time on a wedding day with the bride and groom. We’re a little attached at the hip for a while. So yeah, you need to try to become instant BFFs. Within 0.8 seconds of meeting Carla at their house, and then Scott later at Belmont, I knew that BFF thing was going to be no problem. They are two of the nicest people on the planet. No lie. And the way the love each other….cherish each other….pure sweet sugar. My job couldn’t have been easier.
Seeing them together for the first time at their first look at the beautiful Belmont Manor, I couldn’t stop smiling. When I mentioned to Scott that it was time for their first look and I was going to put him in place, it hit him that it was time to see his bride and the smile that came across his face couldn’t have been bigger. It was excitement to the max. Carla came down the steps and met Scott, he turned around and it was the most genuine joy on both their faces. They shared so many smiles, laughs, and compliments to each other in that moment. Scott stood back to take in the sight of how gorgeous Carla was and Carla, being the sweetheart she is, took a second to look around and saw all the groomsmen and told them how handsome they looked. She was complimenting everyone else when they were all trying to compliment her….that’s how sweet she is. Carla showed off her sexy Louboutin’s to Scott and he said that she hardly ever buys anything for herself……..she more than deserved to be spoiled on their wedding day. While they are definitely sexy, those Louboutin’s are a bit difficult to walk around in the grass in and Scott was by Carla’s side every tiny step of the way as we wandered around Belmont for a bit for portraits. He made sure she was okay and helped her in any way possible during the whole process……….it’s a lot to deal with a dress, long veil, and sky high pumps haha!!
I can go on and on describing little moments between Carla and Scott, but it is hard to convey their love with just words. The closest I can come is what I said before. Pure joy. Truly cherishing each other. I love the love these two have. And it’s not just all sweet and cutesy. They have fun!! I’ll just say this…..at the end of the ceremony their recessional song was “Yeah” by Usher. They danced down the aisle, people. That happened. I think that’s all I need to say 🙂
Carla and Scott, I adore you two. I had one of the best days getting to know you and witnessing you two become husband and wife. Thank you for that honor!
So pretty much every bride I’ve met ditches the “painful” shoes for reception and opts for flip flops or some sort of flats. Not Carla. Take a look at those peep-toe platforms she got for the reception there on the left. I think she said they’re either 5 or 6 inches. She’s awesome 🙂“Yeah” just came on the over the speakers 🙂The hardworking professionals that made this day possible:
