They met at a mutual friend’s birthday party. At a bar. So he says they met at a bar. She says they met at a birthday party. Differences like that are what make Becca and Erwin such an amazing couple. They have differences that bring out the best in the other. But not everything is different. They both have an apparent way with words, as Becca admitted when telling me their proposal story…..”We were on the Ram Head hike in St. John USVI. We were on vacation with Becca’s parents and Erwin asked Becca to come go on a hike with him on Wednesday. So we woke up early to get out and about before the heat and humidity took hold of the day. At the top of the hike, Erwin waited for the other hikers to leave and he got down on one knee as if to tie Becca’s shoe. He looked up at Becca and asked, ‘So are we going to do this thing?’ We had talked about getting married before so Becca knew exactly what he was talking about. Her response, ‘Are you sure?’ ” I love cute proposal stories like that 🙂
When Becca and Erwin first contacted me about photographing their wedding and mentioned the reception would be at the Mt. Washington Mill Dye House I admitted that I had never even heard of it. It’s a new venue but I’m calling it now….it’s going to be crazy popular. I google image searched it and I was floored. Exposed brick, big barn doors, open ceilings with industrial style lights. L.O.V.E. I was so excited for their wedding and it did not for a moment disappoint. Becca is drop dead gorgeous and Erwin isn’t too bad himself 😉 Both of their families are absolutely wonderful and their friends had me laughing throughout the reception. Also, Copper Kitchen made THE MOST AMAZING food!! Becca told me that all she wanted was tacos so they had a taco station at the wedding. Shrimp tacos people….yum!! Baltimore Cakery also made a beautiful cake along with the coolest looking dessert table ever decked out with mini blueberry pies on a stick inserted into a large piece of drift wood. I was obsessed. Seriously, everything was amazing and it was the perfect first wedding of my 2015 season. If all my 2015 weddings are like this one, I am going to have the best year ever!! Thank you so much Becca and Erwin for sharing your day with me!!
