Next up for Best of 2015 is the wedding party.
Oh wedding parties.  Let’s just be honest and keep it real here for one second……I have a love/hate relationship with you.  Most of the time I love you guys.  You keep it fun (refer to the photo above…..I didn’t ask them to do that, they just all of a sudden coordinated jazz hands), we joke around, you’re usually the main people out on the dance floor at the end of the night and I thank you for that because without you all dancing I get bored and sleepy.  We spend a lot of time together and, in your opinion, a lot of times it’s too much time because I’m keeping you from the open bar a little longer so that we can get one more photo.  But it’s cool because I tell you that we have ONE MORE PHOTO all enthusiastic like (note the all caps) and that makes you pay attention and cooperate and then boom bam we’re done just like that!
But then there’s the hate part of our relationship.  Ok, hate is a strong word.  It’s not really that bad.  It’s more of a “You all are driving me bat shit crazy” relationship (I’m allowed to cuss on my own blog.  That’s a rule).  And seriously guys, I’m not some grumpy old photographer that ‘s being all mean and whatever…..ask any other photographer and they will tell you the same thing.  I won’t go into specifics, just know….I’m watching you…..and every once in a while I want to strangle you all.  Especially you, bridal party that is completely wasted before the ceremony has even started and doesn’t want to listen to a word I say.  Think about it……..coordinating 20 drunk people into one photo is not an easy task and is not for the easily flustered.  Or you, THAT guy that thinks he’s soooo funny.  😉  But guess what?  You’ll never know which one you are because I will smile and laugh and pretend I love you and that I’m not in the middle of my bat shit crazy moment.  Except THAT guy……I’ll tell you you’re being THAT guy.
In all seriousness though, yes I have a love/hate relationship with you, but you all are some of the most important people during the wedding day.  The bride and groom chose you to be by their side when they say I do and that makes you pretty darn special.  And I will treat that way.  And we will have fun together.  Promise.   🙂
