I doubt many marriage proposals start with the words “Don’t get mad at me”, but that’s exactly what Matt said to Lauren when he got down on one knee along the rocks of Sarasota Bay. Obviously she said yes, because here is their wedding, but they had never talked of marriage before so it was a complete surprise to Lauren. Their wedding day was the first day I ever met and hung out with Lauren and Matt, but it was obvious that their love is the comfortable, independent kind of love. The best friends, let’s do this crazy life together because it will be so much fun that way kind of love.
Everything about the wedding was absolutely gorgeous and well thought out and executed, but this couple is so laid back and easy going that if something had gone a little wrong, they wouldn’t have blinked an eye. They were there to get married and have the biggest celebration of their lives. I had a great time hanging out with them and their super fun bridal party that day….whether it was Matt being unable to stay serious for pictures for more than a couple clicks, laughing at the bridal party members that forgot about the dog doo-doo in the grass (yep, I just talked about dog doo-doo in a blog post), or the random guy that stalked the bride and groom portraits………we all had fun and, most importantly, Lauren and Matt got married!!
Lauren and Matt, thank you so much for inviting me in to your big day. It was such an honor and I had a blast!
