Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Liz + Ivan : Rusty Scupper – Baltimore, MD Wedding

One thing I’ve come to love about being a photographer is how it re-connects me with people I knew way back when.  I got to do just that with this wedding.  The oh so beautiful and super sweet Liz and I went to the same high school and played volleyball together for a couple years.  It’s amazing how, because of volleyball, we would spend many hours every week together but then, after I graduated, we went over 10 years without seeing or speaking with each other.  Until one day a while ago I got an inquiry from Liz asking about photographing her wedding and it made me so incredibly happy.  We’ve basically been strangers for 10 years but, because of this path that I’ve chosen to take in being a photographer, I then got to share in one of the most important and meaningful days in Liz’s life.  It’s such a blessing that I’m so thankful for.

Anyway, like I said, Liz is a sweetheart and looked so incredibly gorgeous on her wedding day.  And, single ladies, you should be jealous of this girl and ashamed that you didn’t find Ivan before she did.  What a handsome guy you snagged for yourself, Liz!  I don’t know Ivan very well, but from being around him on their wedding day, I’m so glad that Liz found what seems to be an incredibly friendly, welcoming, and supposedly very smart guy!

Liz and Ivan, much to my delight, decided they would do a first look after getting ready at the Royal Sonesta Harbor Court Hotel.  Then, it was off to Federal Hill and the American Visionary Arts Museum for some fun picture time.  I’ve always wanted to go to AVAM for pictures so thank you to Liz and Ivan for making that come true for me!  And honestly, the trips to Fed Hill and AVAM gave me some of my most favorite pictures ever.  I’m seriously in love with the pictures from those places.  Then their wedding took place at the Rusty Scupper overlooking the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.  The threat of rain made it a little chaotic but ended up, I think, working out perfectly…..which you’ll see why in just a little bit  🙂

Her eyes are the same color as her earrings.  Told you she’s gorgeous.

Now meet Ivan…..with his bride ready to come up behind him.  This was such a cute moment.  I was chatting with Ivan here while we were waiting for Liz to come outside.  He was saying that he wasn’t nervous and his face was very serious.  Then Liz came outside and stopped to have her dress adjusted.  I smiled.  Ivan saw my smile and asked if she was outside now and I said yes.  This smile popped onto his face and he said “Ok, now I’m nervous”.  I love my job.  🙂

Fed Hill is perfect.

Liz, I hope you love these because I don’t think anyone could look more gorgeous.

This shot kills me.  These guys did bad ass perfectly.

I can’t even talk about these next two pictures.  I have no words.  I told you, I’m just so in love with the pictures from this wedding.

Off to the Rusty Scupper!  This is such a cute idea to use for table numbers!

Old Bay favors and place cards  🙂

I was just so excited over how Maryland and Inner Harbor this wedding was.  Bushels of crabs, Old Bay, Ravens jerseys…..

Ceremony time!

The winds were picking up and the clouds were rolling in as the ceremony went on…..

And then with perfect timing…..like out of a movie perfect timing……the officiant said “You may now kiss your bride” right at the moment when the rain came pouring down.

This makes me smile so much.  I think the rain made that moment just that much more special.

Thank you so much, Liz and Ivan, for sharing the love you have for one another with me on your wedding day.  I’m truly thankful, and blessed, and appreciative, and all that good stuff  🙂
