Weddings come in all shapes and sizes, and every one is just as beautiful and sweet as the other. Dawn and Mike’s wedding took the form of a few minute long ceremony followed by a sit-down dinner with their immediate families at Magnolia’s on King in Alexandria. While this day would have already been special in it’s own right, it was made even more special for me because Mike is the brother of one of my past grooms (whose wedding I have yet to blog….oops….I’m a horrible blogger you guys). It was like a mini reunion for me and such an honor to be a part of. Showing up and seeing familiar faces and hugging past couples is one of the best parts of this “job”.
Dawn and Mike are just awesome to be around. There isn’t a whole lot of time being around them that laughter isn’t occurring. They don’t take life too seriously and they’re obvious best friends. When retelling the story of Mike’s proposal Dawn writes “He proposed on the couch after cooking me a grilled cheese sandwich. The ring was on the spoon in a bowl of ice cream and baked peaches, which we got peach picking over the weekend. I then laughed like a maniac. It was exactly how I pictured it (not sarcasm).” Dawn also told me that one of the things that makes Mike the one is that “he can shake that ass”. True love people. Not sarcasm. 😉
Thank you, Dawn and Mike, for making me love my job even more. Everybody else, enjoy these pictures of their sweet Magnolia’s on King winter wedding!
