I am so incredibly thankful to have the privilege of calling the absolute nicest brides and grooms my own. Merida and John are amongst the top ranks. They were more than understanding when I showed up half an hour late for our initial meeting because it took me an hour and 45 minutes to get to a place that is half an hour from my house. You have to love traffic in the rain. Apparently giving yourself a cushion of an hour and 15 minutes isn’t even enough when it comes to living in Laurel. But, obviously, they still ended up booking me because they’re here on the blog!! Brookside Gardens has become one of my favorite places to shoot so I was all about it when Merida and John suggested it for their engagement session. Gorgeous light, fall foliage, and a couple in love makes for a great afternoon 🙂 I also have to add that Merida won me over even more when she decided she didn’t need to run off to some private spot to change outfits mid-session. She worked her stealth ninja moves and changed from her dress into her jeans and sweater right there on the spot while staying perfectly G-rated. That’s my kind of bride! 😉 Their June wedding at The Lodge at Little Seneca Creek is going to be amazing and I can’t wait to hang out with them again for the day!!

Location is wonderful! These red leaves and red grass are awesome! Good job!
I was wondering what month you did this photo session? I’m thinking of getting married at Brookside gardens and still deciding a date depending on how much in bloom it would be.
