Sarah and Jake were my very first 2014 wedding that I booked. This was back in 2012!! It had been forever since we chatted or saw each other so it was great when Sarah asked if I could do some family photos for her. She said that it had been like 15 to 20 years (I can’t remember exactly how long because I have a horrible memory) since her family had gotten family photos done, so this was going to be like a gift for her Mom. I loved the idea and was so incredibly happy that I was able to capture this time in their lives so they can always remember what it looked like to be the Todd family in 2014. And let me tell you, it is a good looking family!! 😉
I had such a great time hanging out with Jake, Sarah, her Mom and Dad, and her brother and his boyfriend for a little while at her Mom and Dad’s house. Her Dad told me about the invasive grass that was growing back in the woods and what different trees they have growing in their backyard. If you know me then you know I was perfectly happy hearing about all of it 🙂 And Jake, who works in a patent office for the government, telling about how one of the guys in his office approved the patent for Super Soakers. Any 90’s kid has to love that! They’re such a fun and sweet family and I seriously don’t think I ever smiled SO much while looking through photos as I did when I was looking through these.
Sarah and Jake are currently on their honeymoon…..taking 4 weeks to drive from the East coast, to west, and back. How cool is that?!
I can’t wait to see them all again in June for their Newton White Mansion wedding!
I told Sarah and her brother that I had to get my lighting right so they didn’t have to smile yet….that they could make whatever face they wanted. Legit the very first photo I took. I knew it was going to be a great session 🙂
