Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Blake & Carly’s B’Nai Mitzvah : The National Aquarium – Baltimore, MD

This family is awesome.  Like, should have heir own TV show awesome.  And no, I don’t mean in the horrible “Here Come Honey Boo Boo” way.  I don’t mean that at all.  I mean because their interactions and their personalities, when mixed all together, are something electric and fun and contagious.  They make you want to be part of their crazy family.  When I first met with Blake and Carly’s Mom, Julie, she told me that working with her was going to be an experience.  She was right.  And in such a fantastic way.  I had a great time working with this family of 5.  Blake is the cool, quiet one, while Carly is the high-energy, glamorous, loves-to-be-in-front-of-the-camera one. Then there’s little brother, Brandon, the cute goofy one.  🙂   Dad, Todd, was the back-bone support system.  And then Julie, oh Julie  😉  Like she said, it was an experience.  She’s one of those people that is your friend before you even know what’s happening.  Never before have I had a Mitzvah Mom call me up a few days after the party and talk to me for 30 minutes about what went wrong with everything.  But seriously, everyone there would never know it.  They threw one hell of a celebration.  One that would give some of the best weddings I’ve photographed a run for their money, and Blake and Carly truly were rockstars for the day.

I started out at The Tremont Plaza Hotel to grab some portraits of Blake and Carly.

I think it’s the job of the little brother to be goofy.

Then it was over to the National Aquarium for their service and party.  While they were having their service I grabbed some shots of the aquarium’s amazing glass jellyfish sculpture hanging over where their party was held, some real jellyfish (so cool and, if you know me, right up my alley), and all the gorgeous details and table decorations.

Seriously, everything was absolutely beautiful.

After the service, all the kiddos headed into the dolphin exhibit and watched as Carly and Blake participated in some enrichment exercises with the dolphins……blowing bubbles, bouncing balls, and squirting water guns.

One of the greatest parts of the party was that Julie hired LimeLight Event Group to provide all the entertainment.  The founder of LimeLight, Julian Ross, was there as MC for the night and he did an amazing job.  His energy and passion for entertaining shone through and he kept the party going at 100% all night.  He brought along a great DJ and a bunch of performers that danced in the crowd with all the guests and kept everyone having a ton of fun.  LimeLight kept everyone wanting more by giving away cool prizes to the crowd and leading organized dances.  I loved them and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for entertainment for their Bar Mitzvah or wedding.  Look them up.  LimeLight Event Group.  Do it.  🙂

The Amazing Bottle Dancers showed up, too!  They’re always awesome!

The Bottle Dancers kept it going by leading the Hora.

I think Dad liked it.

Ouch.  MC Dave!!

This is Madison.  I’m photographing her Bat Mitzvah next year.  She’s super cute.  🙂
