Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Angela + Ryan : St Alphonsus Church and Tabrizi’s Baltimore Wedding {Maryland Wedding Photographer}

When I arrived to take the getting ready photos of Angela, one step into her and Ryan’s home and I knew it was going to be a great day.  Angela had told me that the majority of the decorations for her wedding were DIY.  I combined that little knowledge nugget with the fact that I was stepping into a home that was worthy of being in the pages of a Pottery Barn magazine and I knew that there were great things in my future for that day  🙂

I can’t talk about Angela and Ryan’s wedding without quickly mentioning that, while there were so many great things that day, there were also a few….we’ll simply call them set-backs.  Some dress “mishaps”, a camera bag “mishap”, apparently towing or ticketing of some cars, etc.  Now I hope this doesn’t come off wrong and I hope that everyone reading this (especially Angela and Ryan!!) can understand what I’m trying to say here….All of that stuff couldn’t have happened to a better couple.  They rolled with the punches with everything that came along and, if it affected them, it didn’t show one bit.  They brushed it all off.  At the end of the day they were still getting married and that was the whole point.  🙂  Angela was a vision of calm, collected beauty in her Grandmother’s dress.  (Yes, Angela….royalty!!  😉   )   Ryan was cool and handsome and having the time of his life surrounded by a gang of crazy groomsmen.

While there were tiny set-backs, in the bigger picture this was one amazing beautiful wedding.  Like I mentioned, Angela wore her Grandmother’s dress for the first part of the day.  We had a first look at Mount Vernon and the ceremony at the breathtaking St Alphonsus Church in Baltimore.  I seriously want to shoot weddings there all the time.  I loved just taking pictures of all the architecture before the ceremony started.  Then it was off to Tabrizi’s on the harbor with Santana Entertainment to finally get the chance to see the gold and silver DIY vision of Angela and Ryan come to life.  I was floored by the elegance and shine of it all.  It was perfection set against the backdrop of the Baltimore night skyline….the Domino Sugar sign right outside the window.  And Angela turned from royalty into fun and modern with her dress change.  The set-backs faded away and it was all about Angela, Ryan, their family, and friends having a blast celebrating the marriage of these two wonderful people.

Thank you Angela and Ryan!  And thank you to the ever wonderful Marisa for second shooting with me and for sharing in my last Maryland wedding for 2013!!

Aunt Angela was so calm and ahead of schedule she even took over baby duty.   These guys were seriously a trip.  I love when groomsmen add in so much humor to a wedding day  🙂
