Sometimes the people in front of my camera aren’t wearing fancy white dresses and perfectly tailored tuxedos and getting ready for the best dance party of their lives. Sometimes they’re people that want to celebrate a different stage in their lives…..that want to freeze time and forever have images of when their kids were kids. I don’t have kids of my own but I know that everyone who does always says they grow so fast. That they’re grown in the blink of an eye. That makes family photos all that much more important. Just like portraits of a newly married couple will be looked back on for years to come, so will photos of a family. All those growing families out there…..if you’re not getting portraits of your people done on a regular basis, please do! I know it’s an investment but your future self will thank you!
When Destiny contacted me about taking some family photos for her while she and her Las Vegas family were visiting her oldest son, who is currently at the Naval Academy, I was doubly excited. One, because they were staying at the Inn at Perry Cabin in St. Michaels and I have always wanted to photograph there. And two, because it’s such a fun change from photographing weddings. Don’t get me wrong…..weddings are my jam, but I love a refreshing adventure outside of that realm every once in a while. The day was perfect and this family was even more so. I loved this session so much 🙂
