Julia and John’s Chesapeake Bay Beach Club wedding was nothing short of amazing. It had, not one, but three….THREE!!…. favorite moments from this year’s wedding season. Three, people. That’s a big deal. There are photos of each moment in this post and I hope I was able to capture even half of the emotion and specialness of them with my photos. Obviously you’re on the edge of your seat wanting to know what they are, right??!! Okay….
1. Instead of doing a first look between the bride and groom, Julia wanted to have a first look between her and her Dad. I cannot tell you how cute this was. I seriously almost wish I had turned my camera to video for it because the commentary coming from Julia’s Dad was what made this moment. When he turned around and saw his beautiful daughter as a bride he couldn’t stop saying Wow and just letting her know how perfect she looked. He made a circle around her and was seriously the proudest Dad. LOVE.
2. In place of having the traditional flower girls, Julia and John had their Grandmothers be the flower girls. The two Grandma’s walked down the aisle with baskets of flower petals and it was so stinking adorable. The smiles on their faces were priceless and I thought it was such a special way to bring in a bride.
3. Johnny Johnny Johnny…..you pulled on my heart strings, man. When John saw his beautiful bride walking down the aisle you could see how overcome with emotion he was. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a groom so happy to see his bride. The tears came and his Best Man was there to support him with reassuring pats on the back.
And there were so many more awesome things about this wedding. I got to hang out with one chill group of girls that drink Natty Boh and laugh with me about how they might possibly be the most well-endowed group of bridesmaids I’ve ever worked with. Yeah…I said it on here. And they’ll all laugh about it…I love groups like that. And then I go hang out with the guys and, while I’m getting a shot from below of them making a circle around me, they start singing/chanting/Idon’tknowwhatyoucallit Seven Nation Army like they do at Ravens games. Julia is one kick ass bride and asked me if she could go out in the water while we were doing their portraits. Ummm….yes!!!! I can’t forget to mention the amazing mash-ups from Adam Durham and Steve Hartka of Absolute Entertainment that kept everybody dancing all night. Or the willingness and patience of cigar smoking John and his groomsmen to let me play around with backlighting the cigar smoke for some awesome pictures.
All in all, a pretty epic wedding. Seriously. And I got to enjoy it with my amazing second shooter Ashley. Thank you, Ashley!! And thank you Julia and John for being so amazingly amazing and so in love that you make my job easy 🙂
You have to sing Seven Nation Army when you looks at this picture
Daddy/Daughter first look 🙂
Thank you to Ashley for capturing this behind the scenes shot of me while I was taking the bridal party portrait below. I love going through the photos and finding little gems like this 🙂
