Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Julie + Keith : Ferry Point Engagement Session {Maryland Portrait Photographer}

To say that I loved this engagement session with Julie and Keith would be an understatement.  Some couples come along that just get it…..without really any direction or encouragement or anything….they just get it.  They nuzzle, they kiss, they laugh, they have fun.  They basically don’t need me to do or say anything except put them in the right light and click the shutter.  Julie and Keith are one of those couples.
When we originally made plans for their session, Julie suggested she wanted something nautical….boats and water….so she decided she wanted to do city dock in Annapolis.  We soon found out that the boat show would be going on at the time we had scheduled.  Killed those plans.  I told her I would figure out the perfect spot.  I had a vision in mind that I wanted for them and it was more than just a random waterfront spot with a few boats here and there.  I wanted boat everywhere…….boat slips but dry storage, too.  I racked my brain and decided that Ferry Point Marina, a marina that a friend keeps his sailboat at, was the exact perfect spot for that vision.  Boats galore!!  Awesome docks, a rack of colorful canoes and kayaks, and tons of beautiful boats in dry storage.  The people at the marina were kind enough to allow us permission to shoot there and, when the day came, we couldn’t have asked for more.  The light was to die for and the vision came to life.  Julie, Keith, and I all agreed that we were glad the boat show was going on because Ferry Point turned out to be so much better than city dock.  It was 100% what they wanted and I’m so glad it all worked out that way.  And I can’t wait to get them in front of my camera as husband and wife in 2015!!
