Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Kellie + Pat : Chesapeake Bay Waterfront Wedding – Annapolis, MD

This was one of those weddings where I wish I was better with words so that I could really convey how special I think the bride and groom are.  I know that people always say that so-and-so is the *insert adjective here* person, though I feel like that gets thrown around a little bit.  But honestly, Kellie and Pat are truly some of the sweetest people I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting.  From the moment I met them at Starbucks many months ago, and they told me their story, I was just in love with this couple.  I have a horrible memory but I’m pretty sure that Pat told me something along the lines of that his parents have lived in the same house for the past 15 years and Kellie was best friends with the girl that lived next door.  So for years he’s seen Kellie around, and specifically would always see Kellie and her friend at the 7-11 down the street.  Who knew back then that they would now be married and have a super cute son, Jay, together.

I think everything about this wedding was perfect.  Set on the Chesapeake Bay in a gorgeous house at the mouth of the Magothy River, it was intimate, emotional, and beautiful.  Tears were shed and laughs were shared.  I don’t want to embarass Pat or anything, but how he just couldn’t stop from tearing up when seeing his bride, saying his vows, or when standing and hugging her and his son after they said their I do’s, it brought me to tears and showed me just how strong their love is for one another and how happy they make each other.  From the gorgeous views during the waterfront ceremony, to dinner on the porch and dancing under the pergola, I couldn’t have asked for a better day to be a photographer.  Even when dinner was cut a little short because winds started blowing across the Bay, all the family and friends pitched in to bring everything inside and then didn’t miss a beat in hurrying out to then start dancing and having some fun.

Kellie and Pat, I just want to thank you, not only for allowing me to share in your day with you, but for reminding me of how we should all strive to be.  You truly are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever known and the world needs more people just like you…..it really would be an even better and more wonderful place.  I know that the love you two share for each other and for the family that you’ve built will only grow.  I hope that everyone in this world has the chance to meet people as nice and loving as you two are because it really does just make you feel good inside and shows you how enchanting and beautiful people can and should be.  Congratulations times a million.

Now for these pictures  🙂  How cute are Jay’s little Toms?!Oh my goodness, so not only is Kellie super sweet…..but she’s GORGEOUS!!  I loved all the portraits of her.  I loved this one so much that I couldn’t decide which one….color or B&W….
Loved this moment after the ceremony of all the hugs and kisses. So after amazing speeches by the Best Man and Maid of Honor, Jay decided that he wanted to give a speech, too.  It was the cutest thing in the world.  Especially the part about how we all came to the ocean to take pictures  🙂  They didn’t have an “official” mother and son dance, but I caught these two sharing one anyway out on the lawn.  So stinkin sweet. Couldn’t help but do a Jay montage.  He was a dancing machine! When things had kind of died down and it was about time to go, we grabbed a few more portraits.  I’m so glad that they wanted to do this!!  The sun had gone down a bit and the light over the Bay was perfect.  Kellie had even already let her hair down, but that’s them.  That’s what I love.  Laid back but still looking glamorous.  🙂

I am LOVING your photography! My boyfriend and I are getting engaged soon so I have been looking at some different venues and vendors and in addition to loving your work, I am also awestruck by how beautiful the venue of Kellie and Pat’s wedding is! Do you happen to know how I could get in touch with the people who own that house?? I would love to have my wedding there if it is at all within my budget! I would also be very interested in having you shoot my wedding, too! I’m just not sure when that will be yet. 🙂 Thank you so much!
