Hi, I'm Lauren! Welcome to my blog! I'm a Maryland wedding and portrait photographer that loves beautiful light and has an obsession with the water. This is my pretty little place to show off all of my most recent photography adventures and the stories behind them. So get comfy and have a look around!

Lauren + Lucas : Hillendale Country Club – Phoenix, MD Wedding

If you’re a wedding photographer that recently got to photograph a bride and groom that live and work on a dude ranch out in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and even had some of their cowboy and cowgirl friends and family make the trip out this way for their wedding raise your hand…..

Only me??  That’s what I thought!  😉

Seriously people, I can’t tell you how honored I was to photograph the wedding of this amazing couple….and how much fun everyone was!  A tiny bit of background….Lauren is from Maryland but, after college, pursued her dream of being a wrangler by packing up and moving out to Wyoming and, just so happened, to get a wrangling job at the Triangle X Ranch, within Grand Teton National Park (which, by the way, if you’ve never been…don’t wait any longer!).  Lucky girl, right?!  The Turner family bought the property that the ranch now sits on back in 1926.  Different members of the Turner family have lived and worked there ever since, including Lucas.  During a speech that Lauren’s dad gave at the wedding, he said that he didn’t tell Lauren, but when she first moved out to Wyoming, he hoped that she would find a nice man with a lot of land.  He said that little did he know that she would find a cowboy whose front yard is thousands of acres of field and whose backyard is thousands of acres of forest.

I can only imagine the beauty that surrounds them every single day and the adventures that they are blessed to go on living in such a wondrous place together.

I’m so happy that they came more than halfway across the country to celebrate their marriage because it meant that I got to spend the day photographing a beautiful couple and to be surrounded by their incredibly kind family and friends.   And who else gets to say they photographed a real cowboy doing the cupid shuffle?!

Lauren and Lucas, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together living in one of the most beautiful places in the world.  And everyone else reading this should book their summer vacation at Triangle X Ranch!  Go do some horseback riding, fishing, float trips, wildlife watching…..and all with the Turner family as your host!  Tell them I say Hi when you get there!  🙂

So while I was getting the picture on left….the craziness on the right was happening behind me.  Can you tell they were spelling out Lauren?  I’m going to say it was for me AND the bride.  😉So gorgeous, Lauren!! He’s a cowboy  😉I’m in love with these bride and groom portraits.  While editing, it was one of those times where it takes forever only because I loved everything I was doing to the photos and couldn’t choose which edits I liked best.  Such a wonderful problem to have! The speeches given were some of the most emotional I’ve had the privilege of witnessing.  So many tears all around….These two father/daughter dance photos really tug at my heart.  Have you ever seen a dad more in love? And then this….this dance makes me smile so much!  Lucas surprised his mom for their dance by choosing the song “Mamas don’t let your babies grow up to be cowboys”.  So stinkin cute.  I love how he’s just wrapping her up in his arms in the first picture and then picked her up at the end of the song in the second picture.Told you….he’s doing the Cupid Shuffle….  🙂And then this was some absolute amazingness that happened during Cotton Eyed Joe  🙂
